LIGHT-KITCHEN is a DIY-style holography lab, art studio and laboratory by light artist Guillermo Federico Heinze in Hamburg, Germany.
It is one of the few facilities in the world that is equipped in creating holograms using a dichromate gelatin (DCG) emulsion made from scratch. Unlike commercial holography labs, the Light Kitchen is a DIY space that hacks found items in the facility. The analogy of Light Kitchen comes from the process of mixing our own light sensitive emulsions and baking scenes with laser light in into the DCG coated glass. This is a space where artists can nourish their perception, sculpt light in dimensional space and realize a project.
